Clean water is the life-blood of humanity and the quality of water has numerous threats.
Contamination, Legionella bacteria, chemical spills, illegal dumping, animal wastes, pesticides, leaking storage tanks, and naturally occurring substances can all contaminate drinking water.
Since 1987, GEAR has provided hundreds of studies and has produced assessment and remediation reports regarding water quality and treatment.
Water Quality Sampling & Testing
Monitoring the quality of water by having it tested regularly helps ensure that the water source is being properly protected from potential contamination and that an appropriate treatment system is operating properly. This applies to drinking water, stormwater runoff, surface water, wastewater effluents, and groundwater.
Between 8,000 and 18,000 people are hospitalized with Legionnaires' disease in the United States each year. It is a public health concern as its fatality rate during an outbreak ranges from 5% to 30% in those who contract the disease. We help our clients by diagnosing and abating risks by using cost-effective methods.
Managing the risk of Legionella bacteria proactively is more cost effective than trying to remediate an outbreak retroactively. We design for Legionella control and management programs for our clients. These programs include routine monitoring and testing in areas where the risk of Legionella infection is high.
Water Distribution Studies
