GEAR President, Nelson N. Wilson is the author of the White Paper selected by the Society of American Military Engineers(SAME) in 2016 to eliminate the SDVOSB Self-Certification process. Mr. Wilson headlined a panel of Federal agencies including the VA, USACE, Army, Navy, and Air Force where he presented his White Paper at the SAME Charleston, SC District annual meeting. Mr. Wilson traveled to meet the US Congress along with former SAME Executive Director Brigadier General (ret.) Joseph Schroedel to express concerns of Stolen Valor and a duplicitous SDVOSB certification process. H.R. 1615 was passed and was entered into the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to eliminate self-certification.
